How do I care for my textile clothing with a climate membrane?
• When the clothing gets dirty, the climate membrane remains waterproof, but the ability to breathe gradually decreases. So wash it more often.
• Remove the protectors from clothing before washing.
• Textile clothing with a climate membrane can usually be machine washed without any problems. Be sure to follow the care instructions on the sewn-in label. It is advisable to use a special detergent, otherwise the membrane may be damaged. Never use fabric softener!
• Avoid excessive heat when drying.
• Then treat with a dirt- and water-repellent textile impregnation spray.
Does motorcycle clothing need after-treatment and impregnation?
• Snagging zippers are simply rubbed over them with a few drops of silicone spray on a soft cloth. This makes them nice and easy to move again.
• Impregnation helps: raindrops roll off. Water does not even penetrate into the outer fabric. Use silicone-free impregnation spray, preferably spray on after washing and allow to dry. Then activate the water-repellent impregnation effect by ironing according to the care label or in the dryer at a low temperature.
• Impregnation does not affect the function of the membrane. Well-impregnated clothing is dirt and water-repellent. A soaked outer fabric causes heat loss. Good impregnation also protects against the cold.
• The clothing should be impregnated again after about 3-4 washes.
How do I store my motorcycle clothing correctly?
• Only leave motorcycle clothing in a dry place over the winter.
• It is best to store motorcycle clothing, including inner lining and protectors, hanging up in the wardrobe.
• If the clothing can be additionally protected by a garment bag, this must be air-permeable; a plastic bag without air holes should be left open at the bottom.
• Leather and textiles should not be folded. Leather can warp or discolour at the folds.
